LJWC offers a variety of ways to get involved through the following committees:
SOCIAL
Recruits, installs, and retains members. Also oversees club’s mentoring program for LJWC candidate classes and the Libertyville Young Women’s Club.
Organizes monthly meetings, including themes, speakers, decorations and refreshments for general meetings and special events.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Handles publicity through press releases in local newspapers, club promotional materials and website. Collects LJWC event photos and compiles a digital scrapbook.
Tracks local legislative issues of interest to members and informs membership as appropriate.
FUNDRAISING
Manages disbursement of charitable funds and administration of scholarships. Organizes the club’s bi-annual major fundraiser. Host events/projects to raise funds to financially support LJWC. Maintains the club’s record of service and recognition points.
CIVIC CENTER
Coordinates club responsibilities in co-hosting Libertyville Days including organizational meetings and sign-up book. Represents LJWC at the monthly Civic Center Board meetings.
COMMUNITY
Coordinates LJWC commitments to Meals on Wheels and Desserts for Seniors. Plans health and educational events such as PADS dinners and teaching Home Alone Program at local schools. Plans educational and cultural events. Involves LJWC in ecological and environmental projects including highway clean up and various recyclable collections.
